Mojo Monday 251 - Blooming with Kindness

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO251, with another sketch designed by Carole Burrage. For me, it's another Sunday for the final day to get this card in before it closes. I almost didn't make it, since nothing came to mind until today.

If you would like to join the fun click here to go directly to the challenge. Here is mine below:
Again some new DSP, this one called: Fan Fair and I must say, I love it. Very soft, natural, vintage look which gives any card some elegance.

Here, I used the stamp set: Blooming with Kindness along with the ink More Mustard. Later I decided it needed just a little color, so I applied some chalk (Pink Pirouette) in the center.

For the ribbon, I used 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon in Very Vanilla. This ribbon is so easy to use and flexible to create any bow. I love to do double bows with it. For the button, it's Pretty in Pink Corduroy now (retired), but went to nice with it that I had to use.

Added some Basic Pearls on each corner of the card along with Stampin Dimensionals under the Scallop circle. Cardstock used: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, & Whisper White. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

FMS45 - Bordering on Romance & Poka Dot Parade

Design Team member Cindy Hall over at Freshly Made Sketches is the hostess for the week who created this sketch and brought us these fun shapes to play with.

I wish....I wish.... my little 10 month old would get his top teeth in soon so he could sleep through a little more and not have so much pain. I think it's almost out since it looks like a blister on the top gum..at least one...will see soon. Back to the card now.

If you would like to join the fun, you can click here to go directly to the challenge. Here is mine below:
I know this stamp set has been out for awhile, Bordering on Romance, but I just bought it myself and wanted to work on some coloring so here you go. I did incorporate one of the new DSP called Polka Dot Parade along with some Marina Mist & Rose Red cardstock.

I just love this flower and what a wonderful chance to color with my markers and the Aqua Painter. Colors used were: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist along with So Saffron. Almost the entire collection of Subtles when I look now. SU Watercolor paper was used for this.

For the ribbon, I used 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon in Pear Pizzaz (now retired) along with punching out a little white flower with the Boho Blossoms Punch. Added a little button from the Twitterpated collection (retired). Need to buy more buttons.

As always, I did use Stampin Dimensionals under the Circles and for the sentiment, I used the stamp set: Apothecary Art. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

PPA139 & DD12 - Stippled Blossoms & Poppy Parade

The Pals Paper Arts is having a darling sketch challenge created by the talented Margaret Moody, PPA139 and over at Dynamic Duos they have a cute color combo that I love so I wanted to make sure to try combining both in one and cutting it super close to the deadline.
Here is mine:
Got some new stamp sets, this one is one of my favorites called Stippled Blossoms.

Here is a close picture of this gorgeous flower...now that I look at it, I think I'm going to grab my white gel pen and add some dots in the center. Later, I'll post another picture for comparison. Stampin Dimensionals were used under only 1 flower and the little flower on the left hand side.

Loving this embossing folder: Chevron. Paper pierced the center focus. Main colors are Poppy Parade and Black for the Dynamic Duo Challenge. Sentiment comes from the retired set: Watercolor Trio. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

FMS44 - Perfect Punches & Birds of a Feather

Design Team member Jen Mitchell over at Freshly Made Sketches is the hostess for the week who created this sketch and brought us these fun circles to play with.

This one was quite a challenge for me since I felt like I had a creative block. In the end, after alot of thinking, I thought let me pull those punches out and see what I come up with. If you would like to join the fun, you can click here to go directly to the challenge.

 Here is mine:
I pulled out some new DSP called: Birds of a Feather and played with In Colors: Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple cardstock as main elements on the card.

Sentiment comes from the set: Perfect Punches using Midnight Muse ink along with the Modern Label Punch as a layer under it. Added a little butterfly in the end to the sentiment and added some Basic Pearls.

Here I used the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch (Raspberry Ripple), Owl Punch (Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, DSP), for the leaf Bird Punch (Old Olive) and last but not least 1 3/4" circle punch.

This time around, I forced myself not to use any embossing folder and see how it would look all white and smooth. Let me know what you think. Almost forgot Stampin Dimensionals were used under the Owl. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

Mojo Monday 250 - Crazy for Cupcakes & Patio Party

Another week at Mojo Monday, MOJO250, with another sketch. This week designed by Julee Tilman. Yes, I know it's Sunday, but my little son has been having such a hard time getting his teeth in that it's been hard this week to post and create some cards.

He currently has 2 teeth and trying to get the top 2 in. We can see it, but hasn't cut through the gums yet. I loved the skech when I saw it, so I wanted to make sure to create something. If you would like to join the fun click here to go directly to the challenge.

Here is mine below:
This Patio Party DSP paper is so much fun and I love the colors, especially cupcakes that don't add any calories. Plus I got a chance to play with the new in-colors Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, and Primrose Petals along with Baja Breeze cardstock.

Here I was practicing coloring with the set: Crazy for Cupcakes (retired), but thought it went perfect with this paper and big enough for the main focal point. Ribbon was the 3/8" Satin Stitched in Primrose Petals along with 1 In Color Dahlias (Summer Starfruit).

Hopefully you can see the paper piercing which is on the Primrose Petals cardstock. Stampin Dimensional were used under the big Cupcake. Sentiment was from the set: Petite Pairs. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

Merry Monday in July - Perfect Punches

Another week and another Christmas Card with Merry Monday in July hosted by Lesley Croghan over at Always Playing with Paper. Lesley is on vacation this month, so instead the challenge is still to create 4 cards during July and use any previous favorite sketch.

I'm already 1 week behind, so I made sure to get one in this week. The design team picked out their favorite sketch to get everyone started. If you would like to get started on your Christmas cards early, this site would be the one. Click here to go directly to the challenge.

I love this stamp set: Perfect Punches and noticed it's easily forgotten to get used, so I pulled it out and decided to use it for this card. Also decided to pull out some retired DSP called Jolly Holiday.

Originally I bought this paper to make my Christmas cards, but it got lost over time so now I now have more DSP paper to play with for Christmas until I get my shipment in from the new catalog which I can't wait for.

Used the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch in Early Espresso and than stamped the image twice, once in Old Olive and a second time in Cherry Cobbler. Added Baker Twine in Lucky Limeade for the ribbon and Adorning Accents Edgelits for the scallop border, which all is in the new catalog.

Main color for the base is Very Vanilla as you can guess. Other tools used was the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, and a snowflake from the Northern Frost Sizzlits Strip Die (retired).

Stampin Dimensionals were used under the circle to pop up the sentiment more. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

PP103 - Color Challenge - Friendly Phrases

This week, The Paper Player has a color challenge from team designer Anne Marie who is the hostess for this week's challenge and perfect for summer theme card. In addition, it gives me another chance to work on another card and design.

Once again, I went for my punches creating the card below. If you would like to join, click here to go directly to the challenge.

Here is mine below:
Punches are one of my favorites so I figured to create another flower and got to use one of the new Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons for the center of the flower.

For this flower, I punched out (4) 1" squares using Daffodil Delight, than a 3/4" square punch in Calypso Coral. Since I wanted to add some white to it, I cut a 1/2" strip of whisper white and cut out (4) square with the strip.

For each square, I used a corner rounder punch on 2 opposite ends except for the white. For that, I eyeballed with scissors for the rounding. Finally, added (1) Stampin Dimensional under each petal and placed them to create the flower.

Here, I added the scallop border using the Adorning Accents Edgelits using Lucky Limeade and Blossom Petals Builder punch with Build A Blossom stamp set for the leaves. For the steam, I cut a 1/2" strip and colored in the stitched lines with a marker.

Designer paper was 2011-2013 in colors (Calypso Coral) and the new 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain in Daffodil Delight. Other ribbon used was the 3/8" Ruffled ribbon (Calypso Coral). Embossing folder: Finial Press (retired)

Here is mine below:
When thinking of summer sunshine, I think DSP Summer Smooches since it has all the bright summer colors, so I started with that and ended up with this card.

Grabbed my stamp set: Build a Blossom to create this full big flower and leaves along with the matching punch: Blossom Petals Builder. Here is a side view to see how the Stampin Dimensionals were used in between the layers to pop up the look.

Here is a close up picture of the front view showing off the colors of Real Red, Old Olive for the leaves, Daffodil Delight for the center and you can see one of the new ribbons: 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain in Daffodil Delight. Island Indigo cardstock was used under it.

Added a scallop border using the Adorning Accents Edgelits along with matching embossing Accents Folder and for the sentiment, used the Modern Label and Word Window Punch with the stamp set: Teeeny Tiny Wishes.

For the 2 little flowers on the right hand side on the bottom, the Boho punch was very handy along with punching 2 circles from the Owl punch for the center.

After looking at it over, I'm now thinking it could use some basic pearls, but at the same time not sure if it would be over doing it. Let me know what you think. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!

Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Nicole Picadura at Scraps & Stamps, stop number 16 on the Pals Summer Sunshine Blog Hop! Thanks for "hopping" by!

FMS42 & PPA138 - Just Believe & Polka Dot Parade

The Pals Paper Arts is having a color challenge this week, PPA138 and over at Freshly Made Sketches they had a cute sketch designed by Jennifer Timko that I wanted to try out.

Both sites are wonderful and have many great inspiring ideas, so if you would like to join the fun, you can click here for the Color Challenge or click here for the sketch challenge or best of all try combining both in one.
Here is mine:
Finally opened the new DSP paper called: Polka Dot Parade and used the Daffodil Delight one. The great thing was being able to use both sides of patterns on this card.

Love this stamp set: Just Believe which is so versatile and this color combination is terrific for any occassion.

Here you can see I used the Stripes embossing folder and a close up picture of the both patterns of this cute DSP. Ribbon used was the new 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in Whisper White.

Stampin Dimensionals were used under the Whisper White cardstock and under the Modern Label Punch for the sentiment to stand out more. Basic Pearls were added in the end to give this card a final touch. Hope you enjoy and have fun creating!!
